Something More

What did you dream for your life when you were a child? With each day we must fight harder to stave off mediocre dreams. What do you want to do when you grow up? What experiences would you like to have before your dirt?

Some of the most successful people in the world do an exercise called dreamlining. This the best way to actualize your dreams. Don’t be scared. Don’t bound yourself in. Don’t be practical.

Step 1: List 5 things you would like to have.
Step 2: List 5 things you would like to be.
Step 3: List 5 things you would like to do.

Step 4: List the costs to achieve what you want to have.
Step 5: List the things you have to do to be what you want.
Step 6: List the costs to do what you want to do.

Step 7: List the costs of doing what you have to do to be what you want to be.

Step 8: Add all of the costs together.
Step 9: Figure out your current monthly expenses and multiply them by 1.3 and add that figure to the total of step 8. This figure is your TMI (Target Monthly Income). That is how much you need to earn a month to reach your goals in 6 months.
Step 10: If you take your TMI and divide it by 30, that is your TDI (Target Daily Income).

Step 11: List immediate steps you can take.
Step 12: List steps you can take tomorrow.
Step 13: List steps you can take the day after.
Step 14: You should take some time each day to evaluate what you have accomplished and plan another day out.

This plan for dreamlining was based on The Four Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferris.

I would really like to know some of your dreams. If you read this, please comment with some dreams you have.

Backpacking

Frosty I can smell the dirt here is moist and settling amongst the roots of the loblolly pines and live oaks. I dig with my hands and run my fingers through the earth. Mixing with the night air it turns to perfume and dances up past my face. Hiking between the old giants that whisper overhead and hold hands underground, we go silently. Through the natural crowd is our spot between the ponds. This is my home away from home. I sleep at peace on this moonlit ground.

Hello world!

Do you think you are the most aware person you know? When I was little I went through spells of thinking how everyone else was just a robot; and the world was put here solely for my amusement. I can’t specify what made me stop thinking this. Perhaps it was all of the consequences I would run into when I would do things like tease the dog. No, that is not an innuendo.
