My friends and I drove to the Florida Space Coast, took a plane to 15,000 ft, and jumped out.

We opened the door and the air rushed in.

There’s nothing like stepping to the door and looking down 15,000 ft, and then jumping out – Stepping out into nothing and just falling and falling.

When you first jump out, you feel like your falling for about 1 second. Then you are falling so fast that the air pushes against you and you just feel like you are floating. You can think about the fact that you are falling at 120mph for 10,000 ft, or you can go crazy in the sky.

My Niece, Samantha, is spending the week. Saturday we took the boat out. At one point she drifted a ways away, so she started swimming. When she finally made it to the back deck of the boat, she gasped, “I succeeded!”

Free Falling Dream

// March 18th, 2009 // No Comments » // Experiences

Have you ever had a flashback and realized it was of a dream you had not realized you had? The other day I was reminded of a simple dream I had that made me feel great!

I dreamed I was falling through the sky. It wasn’t scary, it was really exciting and real. I was just falling and the wind was rushing past me.

Then, in the distance, I noticed a mcdonald’s playplace in a falling cloud. I flew over to it and went inside. All my friends were there and we played like kids. I worried a few times about how close the ground might be, but then just went back to playing.

Falling through the sky, going down a plastic tube slide is a strange feeling.

A Funny Thing

// May 7th, 2008 // No Comments » // Experiences, Poetry and Musings

I was walking down a street in Tampa with two friends. A homeless-looking man noticed us and asked for a quarter. We dismissively admitted that we had no quarters to spare. “C’mon, you’re tellin’ me that between the three of you that you don’t have a quarter!?”, he hounded. I responded, “We’re not standing that close!”.
